Phoslo is a mineral. It is used to treat kindny failure in late stage. It works reducing phosphate leves. Phoslo prevents phospahtein the stomach ad intestines from being absorbed into the body.
Dosage and directions
Take Phoslo as prescribed by your doctor. Talke it with food.
Precautions
Tell you doctor if you have any medical conditions, especially if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or breastfeeding, you have allergies to medicines, food, kidney problems or low leves of phosphate.
Contraindications
You should not use Phoslo if you have allergy to any of its components, you have high levels of calcium in blood (hypercalcemia), you are taking digitalis.
Possible side effects
The most common possible side effect is nausea. Severe side effects may include severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); confusion; constipation; fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat; increased thirst or urination; loss of appetite; loss of consciousness; mental or mood changes; muscle weakness; severe or persistent nausea; unusual tiredness; vomiting. Seek urgent medical help if one of the listed above severe side effects occurs.
Drug interaction
Tell your doctor about all prescribed and not prescribed medications you may use, specially about digoxin, because it can increase the risk of side effects such as irregular heartbeat. Do not take Phoslo with a bisphosphonate (alendronate), a quinolone (ciprofloxacin), a tetracycline (doxycycline), or a thyroid hormone (levothyroxine)
Missed dose
If you miss a dose of PhosLo, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Overdose
Symptoms of Phoslo overdose include fast, slow or irregular heartbeat, loss of appetite, constipation, confusion, loss of consciousness, metal or modd changes, muscle weakness, vomiting.
Storage
Store PhosLo at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep PhosLo out of the reach of children and away from pets.
